Reborn and Saved In Jesus
Since the age of sixteen, I’ve been an alcoholic and a sinner. As a Native American, being raised by a single mother, on the vast Navajo Reservation, life was difficult and filled with uncertainty. Being raised without my father, my flesh became addicted to alcohol. My lack of faith led me to the road to nowhere, but torment and would cause me to be lost for eternity.
I started my young adult life in Juvenile hall and dropped out of school for awhile. However, I managed to finish high school, and graduated in June of 1992. After high school, I began to start a family with my high school sweetheart. In November 1993, our daughter, .jpg)
In November 1995, I was involved in a horrific car accident, that took the life of my, 28 year old, co-worker. The accident was caused by a man who was drinking and driving. That man was me. I was 24 years old, and I felt that I was in a nightmare. That night, I wished I could have exchanged my life with his. But, as I lay there, I began to think about God. I told one of the nurses that I wanted to talk to a pastor. To my disbelief, the following morning, a local pastor stopped by. I asked him what had happen and why was I spared through such a horrible accident. An accident I shouldn’t have survived. His answer to me was, the Lord had saved me for a reason and it wasn’t my time to go. I didn’t understand what he had meant at the time, and I wasn’t in the mood for a message. But, it wasn’t the answer I wanted to hear.
A few months past, and in July 1996,
While I was in prison, my high school sweetheart found a church and had been blessed since she found God. Ever since then, she has prayed for me and has been by my side. As the years went by, I lost my status as a father and as a spouse. I no longer had a place with my sweetheart. She desired a husband to be a father, a servant of the Lord, and to be saved and reborn in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Eventually, time ran out on me. My sweetheart had enough of the life I had. For the first time, I felt lonely and scared. I realized I needed something else in life. I needed a purpose to live and to understand who God really was. I began to attend church and pray to our Father. I began to pray for my sins and ask for forgiveness. But, I still had to talk to somebody. So, I did something I never had done before. I called one of the bothers from the church and told him I wanted to talk to him. After that, I called the Pastor. In the following weeks, I was attending church as often as I could. .jpg)
Shortly after, I was blessed with the Spirit of Joy! It was an awesome feeling and an experience I had never had or felt before. Then I was baptized in Jesus’ name, and as I came out of the water I received the Holy Ghost! I never thought I would receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. But, through Him, ALL things are possible! Through faith and the power of prayer, Jesus is there! He is the Lord Jesus Christ! I am so glad he found me again, to be reborn of the water and of the Spirit. I know, he will never leave me or forsake me. He has blessed me with a new life and a family. He blessed me and my high school sweetheart on our wedding day. God is wonderful! My children and my wife have seen me transform into a new husband and father. Truly our Lord is our Savior!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! AMEN
